EPAM as a company faced the need to provide over 50,000 of its employees with tools capable of driving AI-enabled transformation.

The challenge was to provide a secure, scalable, and efficient platform that empowered internal teams to access and experiment with AI and develop impactful AI applications for clients, without worrying about Shadow IT.

By encouraging early adoption and embracing GenAI technology within its organization, EPAM has been able to give its clients an upper-hand in leveraging AI technologies as well.

DIAL helped make that possible by providing a secure ecosystem in which all EPAMers can use AI.

We implemented the DIAL platform as a company-wide AI gateway to accelerate AI adoption and innovation among employees, and EPAM embraced AI education and training to facilitate AI adoption across the company. In turn, this positioned EPAM as a leader in creation and deployment of cutting-edge AI solutions that address business challenges for our clients across industries.

DIAL served as a unified entry point for all AI experimentation within the company, allowing EPAM to provide data-driven insights about AI adoption to its customers. The initiative focused on enhancing operational processes and accelerating client delivery timelines, while showcasing Generative AI’s capabilities for large-scale adoption.

Within six months of DIAL deployment, over 20% of the company’s workforce was using AI on a regular basis. Within two years, this has more than doubled – all while keeping usage costs at well under $4 per user per month.

The DIAL Ecosystem is not just a gateway to LLMs, but also a community-driven effort built with collaboration in mind, allowing both programmers and non-technical users to create their own agents and share them with colleagues.

We deployed a full-scale DIAL Platform with access to all most popular language models via UI and API and the ability to quickly deploy new models as they appear on the market.

Chat Application

We used the DIAL Chat application as the main user interface. It not only gives access to a feature-rich conversational application, but also a Marketplace and development tools to power experimentation with GenAI and collaboration features company-wide and within teams.

Access, Observability and Cost Control

We developed a specialized access and cost control system, capable of issuing API keys for users and groups, and tracking, collecting and reconciling their token usage with LLM vendors. This enabled precise and targeted billing per project, user group or API key.
