One layer to govern and build enterprise AI

DIAL is an open-source platform that puts one governed layer under all enterprise AI, enabling control over any solution you already have and hot start for new initiatives.

DIAL connects datasets, applications, agents, metrics and models

Built and used by EPAM.Proven with EPAM clients.

Built by EPAM for its own 60,000 people. Running in production with 1000+ active projects in the in-house EPAM deployment alone.

Adoption ran on enthusiasm. Production runs on control.

Enterprise-scale AI still sits on tools built with a single team in mind.Add a single enterprise-grade layer of control with DIAL.

Streamline all AI model access through one software layer

You can't control what you can't see. Every AI request needs to go through one point first.

DIAL Gateway connects all AI models you use through a single access point you own and control. Cloud providers, neo clouds like Together AI or Fireworks, and self-hosted models are all supported. MCP tools for your enterprise and external systems live in the same gateway, so every model interaction goes through one place. RBAC, credential management, and a full audit trail are ready from day one. Your teams, agents, and systems can all reach AI through the interface that fits them: chat, API, or automated pipelines.

DIAL Gateway

Attribute every request that comes through

To manage costs, enforce compliance, and investigate security incidents, you need to know exactly where every AI request came from and what it contained.

DIAL Analytics labels every request with channel, user, team, project, business unit, and any other cost category you define. Built-in tools can also analyze requests as they come in to detect intent, data sensitivity, and more. Everything captured is stored securely and is easy to access. Review it in DIAL dashboards or send it to other enterprise systems via API.

DIAL Analytics

Route every request in an optimal and secure way

Left to themselves, people default to the most powerful model they can access — regardless of whether the task justifies the cost, or what data residency and approval rules apply. Routing enforces the right choice automatically.

DIAL Auto-routing selects the right model for every request based on the policies you define. Cost, contracted quotas, and latency are all part of the decision. Compliance rules apply in the same pass: a project with data residency requirements can be restricted to approved regional or self-hosted models, and teams in regulated industries like healthcare can be limited to certified models only. Rate limits and quotas apply per team, project, user role, or agent. You can also connect third-party routers like NeMo Switchyard, or plug in your own routing logic. Every routing decision is captured in DIAL Analytics.

DIAL Auto-routing plugins

Do your users tend to default to that one cool model they like?

10-15×price range between the smallest and largest models in leading model suites like OpenAI or Anthropic
3-4×token consumption increase when using large models on simple tasks instead of lighter alternatives
2-3×token consumption increase when using higher reasoning settings for the same model on the same task

Insert guardrails with in-depth prompt analysis

Every model you add and every channel you open is a new way for PII to leak or a malicious prompt to get through. And every one is a potential gap in your compliance audit trail.

DIAL Interceptors sit in front of the routing pipeline and screen every request before it reaches a model. Check for PII, prompt injection, regional compliance requirements, or any other security and compliance criteria you define. Plug in a third-party solution like Google Model Armor, or build your own guardrails on the DIAL Interceptor contract.

Every analysis decision is logged and attributed alongside everything else.

DIAL MCP Toolsets

Give every AI solution access to your enterprise systems

DIAL MCP Toolsets makes your enterprise data and systems accessible to any AI solution you run, through a single controlled access point.

Connect an existing MCP server or wrap your in-house and third-party APIs with DIAL MCP-over-API to build your own. Every toolset lives in DIAL Gateway, inheriting platform-wide access control and analytics automatically. Test, certify, and maintain each toolset in one place, ready to reuse across every solution that needs it.

Need to connect external systems for your automated workflows? DIAL External Connectors handle authentication and logging at both individual and organization level, within the same platform security layer.

DIAL Productivity Hub

Bring every user a single AI workspace

DIAL Productivity Hub gives every user a single chat interface across every model you have approved. Switching between models mid-conversation carries full context, prompts, and files across.

Users can also build their own lightweight agents directly in the same interface using no-code DIAL Quick Apps: pick a model, attach a knowledge base with DIAL RAG, and connect any enterprise system already wired up through DIAL MCP Toolsets.

Build AI solutions the vendor-agnostic way

Build, chain, and test agents in Agent Builder, a unified interface optimized for your business assets and workflows, not for a specific vendor. Swap the underlying model, harness, or vendor with a configuration change, not a development project.

Agents surface in DIAL end-user interfaces out of the box, or plug them into any other corporate interface you already have.

Make quality assurance part of every AI initiative

Choosing a stack and testing what you build on it are solved problems in traditional software. For AI solutions, the tooling is different, and most organizations have not built it yet.

DIAL Grid lets you select the right model for each task based on your own test data, in your own environment. Benchmark new models as they arrive and monitor the ones already in production for drift.

DIAL Eval is an AI-native test framework for evaluating complex use cases, agents, and tools end to end. It comes with extendable metrics libraries, test suite management, and result analytics, built around the quality expectations of each specific use case.

Why DIAL actually helps:
the freedom to build, with the confidence to bring it into production.

  • Open source. Take it and own it.

Deploy DIAL on your own infrastructure, on your own terms. No usage-based markup, no black box in front of your traffic, and no new vendor lock-in to replace the one you are leaving behind. DIAL is also an actively developed product with a dedicated team that regularly ships updates and is ready to provide support and professional services when you need them.

  • Built at enterprise scale, for our own scale first.

DIAL is developed by EPAM. We built it because a 60,000-person engineering company had exactly the problems described above, and we run on it daily for coding, testing, agent development, and everyday work. A single deployment is proven to serve tens of thousands of users.

  • Vendor-agnostic by design, not by adapter.

Models, providers, and hosting options are configuration, not code. The solutions your teams build sit on a stable platform contract, so switching vendor, price, or deployment model is a decision rather than a project.

  • Adopt in steps, not in one leap.

Choose the components you need and add more as the need appears. Start with the gateway, stop there if that is enough, and expand from there. Nothing is all-or-nothing.

  • Governance that people don't route around.

Control only works if the governed path is also the most convenient one. DIAL meets users where they already are — in chat, IDE, existing vendor harnesses, agents, and API — so the governed route is the easy route, not a detour.

  • Extensible at every layer.

Every layer is an open contract: models, routing, guardrails, MCP tooling, analytics. Plug in best-of-breed third parties, choose among DIAL-developed options, or write your own in a day. DIAL doesn't need to have every capability on the market. It needs to let you connect the one you want.

Two ways to start

Take it and kick off the deployment.

DIAL is Apache 2.0. Deploy it on your own infrastructure, build what you want, join the community, share your ideas and PRs, refer for support when needed.

Deploy it yourself

Or bring in the people who built it.

EPAM's DIAL Professional Services team analyzes your needs and IT/AI landscape, deploys DIAL, and adapts it to how your business actually works.

Need to build something more complex on top? We start by going deep into your business, domain, and technical context. From there we move in steps: prototype, build, evaluate, and certify quality before anything goes to production. We deliver end-to-end and stay close through adoption to make sure it works in practice, not just in theory.
